Art and Culture in Lisbon
In Lisbon I had the honor of seeing first hand the fragmented manuscripts of Fernnando Pessoa - 'The Book of Disquiet' at the National Library. Written on hundreds, if not thousands of scraps of paper, old envelopes and notebooks, and not published until long after his death, these treasured jigsaw pieces, discovered in an old suitcase, are one of the literary treasures of Europe, and I held them in my hand! After this euphoric moment I went out to celebrate and found this contraption on the street outside a restaurant - A chef sharpening his kitchen knives. A man after my own heart!

Day 2 - morning
This morning we attended the spin class at SATS gym and in one hour myself and Helmer Berre generated enough energy to power the lights under the bridge for over four hours.

Brain Washing
“A people can be just as dangerously overpowered by the wattage of its tools as by the caloric content of its foods, but it is much harder to confess to a national overindulgence on wattage than to a sickening diet”.
(Ivan Illich 'Energy and Equity' 1974)
