sun and ice observation


I removed some ice from the top of a container in the garden and propped it up against the washing line pole to have a better look at the pot caught in the surface. I returned half an hour later to find that the pole, which had been gently heated up by the sun, was slowly working its way into the ice sheet.

Insect Hotels installed in urban wasteland

Insect hotel prototypes installed at Carntyne wasteland - part of the project 'Wasteland Twinning'.
These were constructed using salvaged material taken from the site after it was levelled by bulldozers last year.

Solar Oven - Australia and New Mexico


This summer I participated in 'Desert Equinox' an off-site group project in Broken Hill exploring the potential of solar powered sculpture. I then travelled to New Mexico as part of 'Machine Wilderness' to cook produce with my solar flat-pack oven, gifting freshly baked biscuits to the public .

Recent Drawings

I have been making some process-based drawings recently which began from the idea of trying (and failing) to draw perfectly straight lines. The results seem to be suggestive of landscape and geology.
